The Leica iCON portfolio for heavy construction is expanding with the introduction of our first 3D machine control system for compact excavators – Leica iCON Site Excavator.

Designed to increase productivity and efficiency, Leica iCON Site Excavator is based on the well-established iCON Site software, now extended to include machine control functionality. 


One system for construction surveying and earthmoving

Leica iCON Site Excavator has the unique capability to combine off-machine construction survey tasks with on-machine earthmoving tasks, in one system. Designed specifically for construction, the iCON Site software is already familiar to many construction professionals and is quick to learn and easy to use.

Design it

Users can mount an iCON field controller and GPS Smart Antenna on a pole to stake out or create a design.

Then immediately install it in the cab of a compact excavator to execute the earthmoving based on the design they have just created or points they have staked out.

Document it

Asbuilt checks and task reporting can also be done using the same hardware/software.
